New Territory

I did some more mixed media work using, water color, ink, and deco marker. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but wasn't really sure how to go about it. I wanted these images to compliment one another but when I was working on the blue image I ran out of blue and resorted to using green. I was also thinking I could have created warm shadows in the cool drawing and vice versa. This is new territory for me and I'd love to hear what you think is and isn't working. Enjoy :)

Making Masks

These photos document the process of making the masks for "Chasing Rodriguez"

Beleive it or not, I'm actually quite happy.

These are the sculpts of the faces with clay walls for pouring plaster.

these are the plaster molds after the clay is removed.

Inspired by Slo

When I as working at Samovar I made a friend name Slobodan and he would come in in the evenings and do these beautiful Drawings with Tea. Ever since I'v been inspired to incorporate tea and tealeaves into my art. I started by toning my sketch books with moist tea leaves and hope to make Sculptures from used tea leaves. Here's an example of a sketchbook page with a sketch of one of my creatures. PLease feel free to let me know what you think.

Mask and Marionette

Here are some photos from my phone of another marionette and a mask that I completed last semester and entered into CCACA(california conference for the advancement of ceramic arts.) I still don't have any amazing photos but I thought I'd share what I have. Still trying to save to have Almac photograph my pieces. Maybe I'll start a donation fund or something haha. Enjoy the photos and let me know your thoughts :)
