These are the sculpts of the faces with clay walls for pouring plaster.

The Masks after being cast in flexible slip and after having eyes nose and mouths cut into.

Flexible slip? Are these masks ceramic? How thick?
ReplyDeleteThey are a little thicker than an 8th of an inch. Flexible slip is a mix of clay and latex, no firing required. It has the consistency of leather once it's dry. It also goes by the name of mannequin rubber I think.
